A field of application in economics is an option within the Bachelor of Science in Mathematics program. This option provides the necessary background for entry, without remedial course work, into most graduate programs in economics. With carefully planned mathematics electives, it also provides adequate preparation for graduate work in mathematics.
This program requires the completion of at least 120 semester hours, including at least 41 hours of general education, at least 36 hours of mathematics, at least 18 hours of economics, and at least 6 hours of computer science.
What follows are sample plans of study. You will develop your own plan of study in consultation with your academic advisor in the Department of Mathematics.
